20 minutes for each player and 5 seconds increments per move
The default time is 10 minutes. After which, we will attempt to re-pair with another available player. The new game will be 15 minutes with 5 seconds increment per move.
The games will take place in the “Moot Hall” on the 2nd floor of the Colchester Town Hall. There will be sitting spaces in the Community Room (Ground Floor) and the Grand Jury / West Committee Room (1st Floor) of the same building.
Colchester Castle and Castle Park are within 100 meters of the venue. If the weather permits, these are lovely outdoor spaces to enjoy the break time.
Free tea/coffee will be available.
The Town Hall is on the High Street, and all popular food chains are available nearby.
Details of any on-site arrangements will be available nearer the time.
There is limited onsite parking. The Britannia Car Park is about 8-10 minutes of walk and costs only £1 on Sundays. A closer alternative is Greyfriars Hotel Car Park by Castle Park, which costs £5 for 12 hours on Sunday. Several other public car parks are within a 10 minutes walk from the venue. Further details are available here. The Colchester park and ride details are here (Park and Ride does not run on Sundays).
There are two stations in Colchester. The Colchester Town station is only 10 minutes walk away. Colchester North station is only 20 minutes walk away. Please check here for the service updates.
The Chief Arbiter reserves the right to merge sections due to insufficient entries in one or more sections. If merged, prizes will still be awarded to the participants of the original individual sections. In case of a tie-break, prize money will be split equally among the players with the same points.
The organisers accept no responsibility for any damage, theft or accident to the person or property.
The Organisers and Arbiters cannot act in loco parentis for junior players.
